Information

The performance by Donald MacLean of Lewis was recorded at the Bratach Gorm in 1953

This tune was composed by John MacIntyre of Rannoch to celebrate the landing of Prince Charles at the beginning of the Jacobite Rising in 1745. He is said to have crossed by boat from Borrodale to Glenuig where he was met by many of his supporters. It is recorded that they were so overjoyed to see him that they danced a reel in his presence which was named The Eight Men of Moidart.
