Grant Funding & Bursaries

The Society has a long history of support for piping, and in particular ceòl mòr. Our Grant Application Form has been formulated to facilitate and formalise applications for financial assistance from the Society. Applications from both organisations and individuals are accepted.

No applications for financial aid can be accepted without satisfactory completion of the Grant Application Form. There is ample space to provide details of your project, but applicants can also forward additional material in PDF format to our Secretary if they so wish.

Guidance
There are two deadlines for applications: March 15, and October 15. No retrospective applications will be considered. The Society offers three levels of grant funding, as well as prize donations:

Individuals, Small Events: up to £1,000
Medium Events: up to £1,500
Large Events: £1,500+
Prize donations books etc. (Juvenile/Amateur Contests)
Applications for other projects/activities will be assessed on a case by case basis.

We receive more applications than we are able to support – thus it is important that applicants heed the limits set above, and complete the application form fully to give themselves the best chance of success.

Applicants, whether applying as an individual or on behalf of an organisation, should be paid up members of the Piobaireachd Society.

Funding should be requested, and will be paid, in GBP (pounds Sterling). The Piobaireachd Society will not normally fund the whole cost of an event. Payments are net of all bank charges. An award on one occasion does not necessarily mean it will be repeated, and if repeated, it will not necessarily be at the same level.

Competition promoters in receipt of grant assistance are encouraged to engage tutors and adjudicators who are members of the Piobaireachd Society. Contact the Secretary with any enquiries.
