According to tradition this tune was composed for the second Battle of Inverlochy in 1645. It is in the Campbell Canntaireachd, Donald MacDonald Volume 1 and Angus MacKay's manuscript. All three are printed in PS book 8. It also appears in N MacLeod (1828) "No XII Kiaunma Drochid a Beig" alias the Head of the Little Bridge, played by MacLeod's piper, during Skirmishes in Ireland, inviting the Clan Cameron to follow him and his party across the Bridge to the Enemy, which they did."
