This tune is known to the Piobaireachd Society editors only from the setting which appears in the Campbell Canntaireachd. The details are in the note in PS book 13. It is one of the few tunes which have a combination of Taorluath and Crunluath singlings in the Breabach form and ordinary doublings. Another example is MacKenzie of Gairloch's Salute.

Judge Note 2026

A long and repetitive tune concentrating on B and D. It needs to be kept moving along. Players may choose to play the low A and B in bar 1 and subsequently as more even than dot cut as written in book 13, and in line 2 bar 3 to match the timing of the cadence beats to D, B and low A to each other rather than prolonging the low A as written.

V1 singling timing may vary - Bs may be played long as written, or shorter to give onward flow. Bright technique is needed to keep interest in the Taorluath and Crunluath variations.
