John Smith Manuscript

We are grateful to Alexander Bothwell of Brisbane, whose grandmother was Mary Smith, daughter of John Smith, for this information about John Smith’s background, and for the photograph of the silver shield on the Prize Pipe won by John Smith in Inverness in 1871. John Smith’s bagpipes are on display in Stirling Castle.
